Wildlife Sanctuary
Nature and wildlife are an important priority at Prairie Center. That’s why the community has set aside 65 acres for a wildlife sanctuary. Currently named the Prairie Lakes Regional Wildlife Sanctuary and Reservoir, this area will feature waterfowl, many types of birds and stocked with fish in a passive environment. The image of the eagle has come to visually represent Prairie Center, as a bald eagle preserve exists 2 miles from the community at Barr Lake. Every where you turn, Prairie Center and the surrounding area offers excellent access to nature, including the outstanding mountain views.
